I also have a new WG that the wife wanted an intercom on. i pondered, searched, and even bought some cheap ones. bottom line is that if you wanna play, you gotta pay.

finally ended up with a J&M MI1490B with a pair of J&M headsets. got them from J&P. mounted the box in my saddle bags, and have a power cord that I hide under the seat when the bags are being used. i velcro'd the volume switch to the left bag so tha i can reach while driving. it also goes back into the bag if i'm not using it.

not cheap by any means, but they work great. even at 75 mph with an open face helmet.

Well..if you don't want to spend too much, you could always pick up the chatterbox wired intercom. It'll run you just about 100 bucks. Basically, it's just one unit that mounts onto your helmet. It comes with one headset, and you purchase a second for each helmet. Then you just plug each headset into the chatterbox unit and bingo...you're talking to your passenger. If I had to do it again, I think I would buy the wireless chatterbox. In that case, you'd have to buy two units and two headsets...so the cost would be a little more. But I would imagine either example would save you money compared to something made by HD....or probably some other manufacturers.
My main complaint is that the batteries don't last long. You can buy the batteries at any radio shack, but still...they're really only good for a couple of hours at best. Other than that, it works pretty well.
