Tomorrow 03/07/10, ill be removing my tins to get them painted. The stock paint is to soft and after only 1 season of riding, its got nicks scratches and a good gouge from a rock that needs attention.

These are the folks doing the Job. Few forum bretheren here have used them "Thanks Jerry" for the reference.
Rob, the shop owner and painter is a great guy to talk to and as you can see, they do great work at great prices...
So tomorrow my tins come off, and I read through the forum and saw all the do's and dont's.. removing these Tins seem straight forward. Unless im missing something.
1. Drain Tank.
2. Remove electrical components.
3. Removing Fuel Guage( BTW, didnt see a write up for that.. if someone has one, please drop a link or a followup. )
4. Remove Mounting hardware, as well as cross fill line, not gonna bother, cutting and clamping im gonna do 08's method replace entire line and use a compression clamp to hold her in place.
Guys, feel free to throw in points of interest and snags to avoid. I reviewed my ride and it seems straight forward.
08FXDF, i was hoping for that rear fender... coulda sent that out together with my tins and gotten it all done sweet like. but that will have to wait.
Ill be snapping pics, and posting a to this thread "Editing" to illustrate the break down.
Again, thanks in advance...Feel free to give me points of concern and possible short falls.
Thanks everyone.
