Question Black primary cover: need help

After painting my lower front legs in black using epoxy paint, i want to paint my primary cover in black.
What should I use to do that? (type of paint, ...)
Thank you

The primary does get hot from the engine so you will need high heat paint. I just changed out all 3 of my covers with black ones from ebay for cheap. I got the primary for 40 bucks shipped, then i just painted the other half of it with high heat bbq paint flat black to match.

Depends on the exact look you're going for. HD has two engine black paints - textured and wrinkle. Your inner primary is probably texture, tho I can't swear to that on your bike. It is on my 07 SB and my gfs 00 Lowrider.

I used texture and then some chrome metallic and clear coat (rattle can all) to paint the a/c cover in this thread:

Maybe a black derby cover of some sort would be a satisfactory and cheaper alternative.

Powder coat it. Get in touch with JRK5892 (Joe) on here. He will powder coat anything then you don't get the heat or peeling paint issues.

You cant tell the color difference in person, but the camera flash shows it. but the inner primary flat black matches the engine fins.
