While at the stealership today, I was setting up my finances with them for my new FXDC. I like the idea of having lo-jack installed, but they want to charge me 1,100 bucks.
Does that price seem reasonable? I thought it was like 600 bucks or so for it.
or
Should I get their alarm system and get the pager with it?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
FYI, I live in an apartment complex, so my bike will be parked outside in a lot (in fron of my apartment.)
While I dont want mine to get stolen thats what I pay insurance for. I have a extra 5k for my accessories and that 1100 would pay my insurance for 3 years.
not worth it. You need full coverage for your bike to be financed. Just feel secure that your covered if the bike is stolen. Don't waste money on security systems IMHO. I too have insurance that covers up to 5K over the value of the bike for my add ons. My bike is worth more stolen than if I were to sell it... LOL Oh yeah my insurance is 190 bucks a year with no deductable.
Who in the hell do you have your insurance with? I need to change...
Geico. 192 dollars a year... bare in mind I do have an 05 FXDC so I'm sure my rates are lower than a newer bike. Also have minimums on the pip part and no uninsured driver. The uninsured driver jumps the annual cost to almost 600 bucks. *** that, I'll take my chances. Bikes covered for theft and accident...all I care about.
