I am considering going to mid controls on my 2009 Fat Bob and am trying to find out what is really needed for parts to make the swap. Is a different inner primary needed, etc? Any advice would be a big help in my decision. Thanks in advance.......Schneider
Yup, you will need a inner primary that has the passage for the mid control shift rod.
I have everything you need, minus the rod that goes through the primary/inner.
I would trade you my mids/primary cover and inner cover, but mine are silver so I doubt you'd be up for that. (The only thing you would need is the rod that goes through from the dealer).
The forwards primary cover does not have the hole or tube for the shift rod. Someone may have worked around this, but its probably easier to replace the primary. The controls and linkages are a little different too. Its not a small job. I believe someone posted their conversion maybe 6 or 9 months ago.
inner outer primary and all the parts for mids. Lot of work goes into this. Nothing difficult to do though. Good news is the brake side will only take about 10 minutes to convert.
