Newb to the forum, returning to Riding after to many years..... I was looking at a Sporty to get my "Legs" back but came across a Blk 09 Superglide, less than 1K miles, in Warranty. The only extra is Smart Security. $9500 at a Dealer, Having been out of the Loop, do you guys think that is a great, fair or average price? Can I do better?
Seems pretty good to me, less than one year old, plus you still got at least one year warranty on it. Being bone stock has it's pros and cons, this way you don't start out with someone elses next best ideas, you get to modify it just the way you want it. I'd say do it, that's how I bought my streetbob, I let someone else take the dealer hit, in 07 bought an 06 for 11,500, 2100 on the odom, windshield and stage one done allready at that time.
Hey Jon. First, I wanted to comment that the S-glide does seem like a good deal.
Second, if you decide on a Sporty and are interested, I'm in NJ (Westfield area; exit 135 off GSP) and have an excellent condition 07 Sporty 883XL Low with just under 2k miles. It has had it's service and is hanging out in my father's garage. I think the color is pacific blue (forget the actual name). I am looking for $5500 (but am somewhat negotiable if it's a forum member) and will include the Rush slipons (I think 2" baffle) that are presently on there. It sounds great.
Alot depends on your area but sounds like a fair price. I do recommend spending a little more now for a Dyna over a Sportster, it will save you money in the long run.

Good luck either way!

I.m going to recommend that to a friend... I did my deal today....
Forget the Sportster. You'll want to upgrade a week after you get it. The deal on the FXD is fair unless the $9,500 is the "out the door" price including all taxes, prep, destination ,etc charges.
