Ha! It will fit!
'bout a week ago I asked if anyone had ever installed a flamed LED Fuel cap on a 2002 Wide glide. The dealer said it wouldn't work because the wiring didn't support it. BULL!!!
:-D
I report that I had to adjust the wiring a little, but it does work.
It was actually pretty easy, There was only one extra ground cable that i had to double ground but everything else was pretty straight forward.

I like the ***** G Skull gas cap, but think it would look weird without the matching fuel gauge. I have tried to determine why the fuel gauge wouldn't work on my 2002 WG, but have never found anyone who could give me a definitive answer, and I wasn't willing to shell out $150 to find out.
It would seem to me, you were in a similar situation with a different gauge. That being the case, can you provide more details on what you did or needed to do to make it work?

Sure brother....
When you pull off the fuel gauge you'll see four wires. The two coming from the bottom of the fuel tank are attached to the harness with a connector plug. They are Orange and Black.
The other two attach to the top of the fuel floater assembly. They are black and Yellow/white stripe.
All the wires match. The LED gauge comes with the yellow, orange, black harness already ready to go on but the yellow is too long.
Simply run the orange and black through the tank. Cut the yellow from the gauge to fit with the yellow from the floater, and ground the floater ground with the black from the harness on the gauge.
Presto! Finish, (don't be like me and forget to plug in the harness under the tank! lol)
OH, by the way, the harness under the tank, you're going to have to use the same plug but change out the wires with the new ones. If you need pics, let me know I'll go back and post them up.
Gauge was 80 bucks on Ebay.
