Removable pillion and sissy bar with a T-Bag strapped to it facing me. It is great to lean back on the bag on long trips. I use a Saddleman fork bag and it is crazy how much I stuff into it.
I picked up one of the Harley detachable solo racks on here for $100 ..first thing I bought for the bike. It will allow you to pack an amazing amount of gear.
I bought the HD solo rigid bag but I think I am going to return, I knew it was not going to be a detachable but I was also not expecting to spend more than 15 mins putting it on and taking it off. So its going back to the dealer. Oh well, I will be getting the motherwell rack. If anybody in the houston area is interested in the rack I bought, I ll pass the 15 percent discount alonh if not I will take it back tomorrow. Thanks everyone for their input.
OK here's the thing, a two up seat off a low rider or superglide custom is way more practicle than a Motherwell rack and damn near as cheap, I know I've had both.Either one will let you bungee stuff to the rear fender behind you but only a two up seat with some passenger pegs will let you carry a passenger too.You can get a small duffle bag for around $20 or less that'll carry what you need for an overnight and bungee it to the back of the bike and go either way.
I know where you guys are coming from. I have never liked the look of saddlebags on bikes. from my 2000 Sporty and through my 06 Sporty up to my 2010 FXDC I did any thing I could to ovoid saddlebags. I got so sick of strapping roll bags, small bags, and all kinds of stuff to my Harley's, I finally gave in. I installed Leather Pros saddlebags to my new Harley. Still not nuts about the look, but man do I love them. For the first time ever I have no storage problems. I wish I had done this years ago. I got to say my bike looks better with them off, but they are so convenient, I'm not sure if I will ever ride with out them. For the OP, of all the different storage things I did I liked my last one the best. I took a large tool bag and hooked it to a sissy bar, of all the small bags I had used through the years, that looked the best and was great for small items. I still had to spend a lot of time strapping larger stuff to my bike, but that's just the way it is with out saddlebags. hope you find a way that works out good for you.
