Does anybody have any ideas in regards for storage on the street bob. I am not a big fan of having saddle bags or fork bags, but i would like to have enough room to store some water and a few other things when I go on over night trips.
I know this sounds a little contradictory, wanting storage and not wanting saddle bags. I typically carry my items in a backpack. I did a few searches but did not return what i needed.
I did see somebody recommending Lick's Solo Bag but the thread was old and there were no actual pictures of the bag mounted. Let me know if you guys have any ideas or feel free to point to some useful thread.
I'm with spanky, I've got a motherwell rack in black, I just toss a bad on it and go. I also have a small saddle bag on my swing arm for the odd ball stuff and shorter trips.
I run a C&C Fastback seat with a removeable drivers backrest. I have a Nelson Riggs Mini roll bag I use alot to carry some small things (light jacket, gloves, hat, etc.) anything I may need on a day run. I have got a change of clothes with a light jacket in in it for a over night stay once as well.
I have a bigger Nelson Riggs roll bag that can easily be used for a 2 day trip and maybe a 3 if pack light.
I also carry a bungee strap in the bag if I ever need to strap more than the bag can carry.
The backrest and bag pull right out quick so when dont want it I can toss it aside in seconds.
Good thing about this set-up is not only does it give you somewhere to put something but the backrest makes it alot more comfortable.
As stated, motherwell rack in black. Buy a cargo net and a few bungees and you can get a ton on there. Strap your backpack down or a duffle. Easy and fast. I have a Kury roll bag that fits nice and looks ok on the rack. I can strap the bag to the bars if I need more storage and cargo another bag or backpack to the motherwell rack.
When I bought the rack I intended it for quick removal, but I never take it off.
I had not really considered, detachale rack, I will do some searches for the ones you have mentioned, I might come back to ask for more guidance. I appreciate it gentlemen.
