It's been nice here the last few day so I've been putting some miles on the bike to let the Tmax adjust to the new Thunderheader and 25* injectors. Before going on my lunch time ride yesterday I noticed a drop of pink oil under the bike. Yup pink, I've got Redline Shokeproof Heavy in the trans. So the bad news is I have a seal leak and have to pull the primary off again. The good news is, eventhough I was going to put off a 30t pully and welding my 2 peice stator, if I have to pull the primary anyway it only makes sence to do it now. At least it's not spring yet.

Now Thats looking at the bright side. Good job keepin' it positive.
good move on the stator/rotor. I tig welded a small tack on each bolt head with stainless rod. You might as well do the Baker High Torque IPB update while you're at it and be done with it.
Right on man.. Guess it was a good thing you've got leak, since you'll be able to do that stuff now. I really want to do my Baker IPB, but I'm a bit afraid of doing it..
I have a stock bearing and race sitting in my tool box from the last time I opened my primary. I bought them just in case my bearing was shot, but didn't need them. I think I might put the stock bearing and race up on ebay and go with the baker. Adrian...just go for it. It really isn't a hard job, just take your time and go one step at a time.
HOGRIDA... What do you think of the Thundermax ? I have one , but I haven't gotten time to install it yet . Haw tough was the install ? Also is loading the base map confusing at all ?
I like the Tmax for it simplicity. I like to do things myself, and the Tmax allows that. The install was pretty simple. It's been 2 years since I did mine, but I can recall two problems. The first was removing the fuse box, I don't remember how I got it off but I remember have to mess with it for a while before it came free. Something about sticking a small scewdriver in a slot and releasing a tab...PITA. The othe problem I had was unscrewing the ECM from the fuse box. One of the nuts thats molded into the box stripped and I had to drill it out. I htink I just ended up useing a new bolt with a nut but I can't recall. What I do know is before the Tmax I had a FuelPak and the FP was a POS, my bike would sputter cuff and stall. There are some good Tmax install video's on Youtube. If you have any specific questions on the install let me know and I'll search my memory bank.
Well that sucks bad, how many miles you got on that thing since you had it apart? Not sure if I read your post right, when you had your primary apart before did you replace the seal at all or just inspect the seal/ipb. The one thing I remember having to be kind of cautious was trying to get the left side back over the rotor and the right lined up on the trans shaft, kind of worried me I would damage the seal, maybe you kinked yours a little?

Two years ago when I had the primary off I was replacing the the seal on the back of the primary. This time it is deff. a trans. seal leak. I'm not expecting to see any problems w/ the IPB, I haven't heard any noises anyway. I am still concerned with the primary not being doweled to the crank and trans. it sure would make it easier to put back together.
