Ok, I have thought myself into a tough decision. I had planned on putting the Arlen Ness Quarter Fairing on my '10 Wide Glide. Now im not sure. We got our new C&C fastback seats in, and put them on. They feel great. Well my wife has the 10" mini apes plus 2" loner industry risers on her Street Bob. Well i had a set down on it yesterday and man that thing felt RIGHT! So, now im in the dilemna, do i still want to stick with the quarter fairing on mine, or go to 10" or 14" apes. I have always loved the feel of mini apes as i had 12" on my last bike. But i like the look of that quarter fairing. And, to answer this question before it comes, i dont think i will like the fairing with apes. Just a personnal opinion. Any comments or suggestions? Preferences?
There is was a new thread on here by venturaoutfit today... He has some pics of bikes with tall bars and quarter fairings. He has 14 inch risers under drag bars. May give you the height you like and the fairing to go with it. Might want to check it out...
cant see the pics on that thread. im at work and it blocks any pics from photobucket, flickr, etc. Get off in a bit and will think more on the ride home then take a look at the pics when i get there!
instead or apes, tall t-bars and the fairing! One thing you got much more rake than a regular dyna, so, the t-bars will come back to you along the lines of the front fork. There is a lot less pullback than apes so it should work itself out.
Well just an update, im going to go with the bars instead of the fairing. Found a place here in Tx, that sells the 12" or 14" true fatty apes with the internal wiring already done with extended cables, with all new crome control boxes for pretty reasonable price. Now the question is do i want 12" or 14"? They will be setting on the factory 4" risers.
If its hill country custom cycle (or something along those lines) heard good things about their stuff. Should be happy with the purchase. Could probably get it cheaper piecing it together yourself, but then theres the hassle of doing it and maybe getting wrong parts, etc. Good luck and ride safe!
Yep, thats who it was from. And yeah i priced it ordering it through a few differant places and it was a little cheaper, but not with the chrome controls. Considering i am going to put matching chrome grips, i think their set up would work fine. Im usually pretty cheap, but sometimes convenience can be better than saving a buck.
