Is this a problem?
I put the V&H ProPipe BP and a K&N replacement filter on my bike. Have the TTS on the way but it won't be here until next week some time and this weekend I'm thinking of a 3-400 mile ride.
The bike pops & crackles a bit on decel, probably too lean, but as I'm still in '58 Pan mental mode, I'm wondering whether there is a chance of any damage happening on a short ride like that? Like they say, the only dumb question is the one you didn't ask.

What bike do you have? Is it a new fuel injected bike? If so, I wouldn't do it. They run so lean from the factory that you really need a fuel tuner to run new pipes and more intake flow. The flood is going to roll in involving a flash from the dealer and a fuel tuner but if it were my bike I would do it right and buy the fuel tuner.
i rode mine to the dealer 20 miles with no tuner before i added the sest last week and it ran pretty dam good i must say. Talked to the tuner and he said same as above that it will run lean and he wouldn't recommend it for a long consistant run out on the highway. Buddy who is an indy and i trust he knows what he is doing said the same thing and he wasn't looking to make a buck and he tears down motors swaps EFI's for carbs and about any thing else
Thanks guys, I was thinking that might be the case but really didn't want to not go for this ride. Oh well, it's truck time and the TTS will be here next week. I got USPS notice of shipping today.
Thanks again,
Pat

The main issue for your EFi tuner, is to compensate for the increased airflow into your throttle body.
You really wanna do the ride, JM is right, throw your stock air filter back on, leave your new pipes on, and you'll be just fine.
with your stock A/C, your intake will be returned to nominal operation and your ECU will compensate for the decreased back pressure on the exhaust portion.
This is of course temporary till you get your Tuner, then you swap in the new A/C install your MAP. and your set.
No reason to forgo a road trip all on the account of a tuner.
Very cool!! Putting the stock air cleaner back on is just a few minutes work and I'm good to go. It's an 09 Super Glide. V&H ProPipe, Burly Drag Bar on 4"/1" pull back risers, short seat rail & K&N filter so far with Kuryaykn signal mirrors, fwd. highway pegs, lay down plate holder and Rifle Roadster fairing in the mail. Club Guy from long ago with a new (2000) miles 2009 Super Glide and a grin as big as all outdoors.
Thanks for the headsup on the stock aircleaner change out for the ride. Now if the weather holds....
