I am thinking of installing an ecm to my bike. I use apple computers, is there any tuner that works on an apple or do I have to get a windows laptop to even install one. Thanks
My guess is that you already have an ECM on your bike. You are probably looking to ad a fuel tuner. You could simply google "Harley Fuel Tuner Apple", and see what you get.

Just got my powervision from fuelmoto yesterday and the required operating system required to run WIN PV is Windows xp - vista - 7 - 8 - 8.1 and 10 in 32 or 64 bit flavors.

Just an after thought you can get a cheap win Xp , vista DVD off eBay or amazon then use boot camp to partition the drive and have a duel boot system, but I have an old ibm think pad I'm going to put back into service, just need a new battery for it @ 45 bucks and I have a machine just for tuning purposes.
Just a little perspective...
If you are going to do wrenching - you need a set of Imperial spanners
If you are going to do tuning - you equally need the right tools for the job
I've worked in IT for far too long to give a wotzit about a desktop operating system ...the computer is just a tool that allows me to do whatever I want/need to.

That maybe all true but if the wotzit is other than 32 or 64 bit and not windoz brand. You up **** creak with out a paddle
From what I have found you're going to need to run Windows. Running it through Boot Camp or a virtual machine on a Mac is an option although I found an Acer One tablet/laptop for less than the Windows install software. It now makes a handy garage computer for quick internet searches. If buying used computers make sure the software will run on it's operating system. For example the Harley Pro Super Tuner software requires Windows 7 or newer now.
