Has anyone tried this lube specifically for the HD gear boxes? It's called V-Twin Transmission Oil w/ Shockproof
Quote from Redline site:
This product dampens transmission noise (reducing the notorious shifting clunk found in these gearboxes), dramatically reduces temperature, provides thicker oil films between gear teeth and resists throw-off For all aftermarket versions like Baker, JIMS, S&S, etc. For all H-DŽ trans including with Evolution engines, Twin Cam engines, and latest 6-speed Cruise Drive Same fluid as our unique Heavy ShockProofŽ Gear Oil
Ive been using it for about two years on my 03 lowrider, seems to soften the so called shift clunk...heard lots of good things as far
as being a great gear lube...i will continue using it.
I have Amsoil in my '07 Bob and it is far and away better than the Redline
Shockproof I bought for it and my '09 Softail. I have the Redline in the Softail
now and just as soon as it is time to change, out it will come. I am glad I
didn't put it in my StreetBob.
I too was suprised by the Redline Shockproof. I have had it in for 4,500 miles and the transmission shifts and "clunks" the same as it did when I have the HD Syn3 20W-50 in it. Next I will try the Amsoil 75W-140 in my transmission as I have already purchased it.

Please keep me informed. I'm curious as to how the 75w-140 gear oil works out for ya.

I run AMSOIL 75w140 in my trans and I got it for my buddy that has a 93 FXR and was missing 5th in the heat (popping out of 5th). When he put the AMSOIL 75w140 it stayed in 5th. In the engine I run 20/50 v twin by AMSOIL and 10/30 in the primary. So far I like it. A lot less sewing machine noise, neutral very easy to find!
