I bought my 08 Fat Bob with forwards and because I have short legs after a 1/2 hour ride home I realized I couldn't hold my legs out there that long. Thank god the dealer agreed to swap them with a bike they had on the floor with mids. What a difference in the comfort and the way I can control the bike now. HD came out with adjustable forward pegs for dynas and they should work great for the times I would like to stretch on long rides.
I sat on and test rode a couple of Harley forwards, and was very uncomfortable. I even wrote to Big Dog before I bought my Low Rider, to ask if any of their pro-street models had mids for an option (no).
Size-wise fit and riding style is to each his own regarding control/comfort, but it's mids only for me...
I ride with mids and highway pegs. I think its the best of both. I can catch the shift lever with my heel if I'm cruising on the highway and need to downshift.
I ride my highway pegs more than my mids so wouldnt want to give them up. My seat does push me back which makes the mids more comfortable but still like the highway pegs with the Kury Extenders on them.
Actually, since changing to the C&C seat I sit far enough back that I can not comfortably reach the forward pegs. But I haven't found myself really needing them yet.

I had the same problem when I got my C&C seat so I put the Kury Xtentions on my highway pegs which brings them back and up (can use to extend them as well) so they were comfortable again.
I like the mid controls on my 09 Low Rider around town and in the twisties. But for most cruising on the highway my feet are on the front pegs. I use them both enough that I wouldn't take either one off.
Only I use the pegs around town as well as long as it's not too much stop and go.
I tried highway pegs on my Dyna and was not able to get comfortable on them.I felt like my feet were going to fall off the pegs.On the other hand I've tried a couple of Sportsters with forwards and they felt just about right. The forwards on a Dyna just feel too far away.I'd like to have another place to put my feet on long rides maybe I could modify a set from a Dyna to pull them back some.
