Sometimes what you do/did for a living takes away the fun of the hobby side of it. I am a server admin (windows servers). I work(ed; unemployed right now) on computers all day long. Sometimes I just want to throw my pc's out the window. lol See my point?

I think everybody will agree Powder coating is a superior finish. However aside from the cost, dismantling forks can be an expensive pain in the a$$.More likely than not you'll need new fork seals, oil and hope you don't strip the caps during disassembly or reassembly. Painting anything in the winter can be tough that's why I bought a space heater and a thermometer. Most any paint you buy will have instructions with a temperature range on the can.I just crank up the space heater and watch the thermometer until it gets to the right temp and spray. As an added bonus it's allot more comfortable to spend your winter in the garage when it's the same temp as your house.

I've had good luck doing a final wipe with acetone right before painting.
