One of the cool things about powder is you can tape and cover anything you don't want paint to stick to, and the powder only sticks to the exposed charged areas, so you can even do some jobs without taking anything apart.

The way it works (I know, basically) is that the charge determines the thickness of powder that will stick, so the powder will find all spots on the metal, even if you are not aiming straight at them. I have painted stoves and fridges right in kitchens with great results, and have done a bunch of bike parts this way. Not as good as a baked finish, but ten times better than rattle can.

Man ..I sure would recommend washing it with alodine... followed by a light coat of some zinc/chromate rich primer before you paint it if you dont want it failing from the inside out ...especially consdering the nicks that frt lowers are so prone to from debris.

Where could I find Alodine? Also, what are some primer brands that are zinc/chromate rich?

Alodine is sold by the quart at many auto body supply stores ...as for primer ask them for something like this a lot of companies make aerosol stuff like this :http://www.levineautoparts.com/ziphpr.html

....all you need is a light coat .

If they are actual fisheyes, there is only one cause - silicone. If you've ever used Armor-All or any other silicone based product in your garage, your chances of being able to paint in there without getting fisheyes is pretty slim.
