just installed SE air cleaner and a new PCIII map on my 2007 streetbob. first tank of gas i got 31.6 mpg. this was mostly around town, with a couple of short highway runs. is this good mileage for my setup? i'm guessing a good dyno tune will improve mpg maybe? Thanks in advance.
If you tell the dyno operator you'd like to see some mpg, then they may be able to help. The PCIII disables the O2 sensors so it has to run rich for engine safety, and most performance maps run rich anyway. What was the mpg before the PC? If it was in the 40s, then you still should be in the 40s with a mpg tune. Riding the same you should not have dropped more than 6 or 7 mpg.... but you need to give it a few more tanks.
My bone stock 09 Superglide gets about 41-42 in mixed town / highway / mountain
riding and about 38-40 when loaded down with saddlebags, backpack, rack bag,
etc. on trips but I'm rarely below 5,000 feet above sea level and I think I have to use
more throttle to compensate for somewhat lower horsepower.
damn - im lucky to get 120 city riding - better on the highway but max 150 on a tank - 07 dyno'd on the perf side, not econo though. So UK, Id say your good, but I guess newer models somehow better?
big radius and stage I ac and pcIII was more on avg of around 42 to 44
Just got a SEST and dyno tuned more on the perf side and thought i was in trouble lol but we were riding them hard that day and i only got about 33, took it out sunday with the wife ran the twisties and about a 200 mile trip and avg 42 agian but bike runs great.
Just rode yesterday and checked. I got 47mpg. I've gone 200 miles on a tank, but I usually fill up between 150-175 miles anyways, or start looking for a gas station. But I only have slip ons and stock a/c and no module yet! I've gotten 50mpg before taken it easy.
My stage 1 carb'ed Low Rider got 47 on almost every tank down in FL a couple weeks ago. Mostly all back roads. Not hyway, not stop and go. I was pretty happy as we were two up and WAY overloaded.
