I'm starting to think that some variety of Ape might be in my future mod schedule. I'd like to see photos of Fat Bobs with Apes, and hear any experiences with making the switch.
I just finished with putting sixteen inch apes on, 1 1/4". Experience of doing it myself was fun, Im just dealing with a sputtering issue now, but I would say go for it, they are extreeeeeemely comfortable, moreso than the original bars, my opinion only of course. My sig photo is old, Ill get a new one up soon.

That's what I hear ... figured it was worth looking into.
It has been well, well worth it, already put on a few hundred miles last week, sig is the new photo of them, verrrrry comfortable and I can actually recline more while running.
hey nazareth... what did you do for the extended brakline... having a hard time finding a kit for the dual front disc to add the 14" bars i just picked up... any help would be appreciated
I went with Hill Country Cycles, they hunted all that down for me and sent the brake lines it needed for all of it. I ordered from them the prewired 16's, but kept my own switch housings. I feel in hindsight I could have done the internal bar wiring myself) Maybe give them a call, tell them what you have, with your 14's and your riser height and they should be able to set you up with the brake lines for your apes. Theres lots of different info on here if you search them. The only problem I had was they sent me the wrong brake junction so I reordered that from phat performance myself.
The wiring of the bars is not difficult, just time consuming. Anyone can do it, just draw diagrams of where the wires go back into the connectors and add some length either via Novello extensions or regular wire. the Novello extensions are nice as they are color coded like the stock wiring. We can get you all you need for this project, however we do not pre-wire bars if you choose that route.
