OK my reasoning was, now that I have my cafe SV I've decided the Bob needed to become a big ugly 2 up a$$ hauler. It works for that but I'm not loving it.The things I like are the looks of the Santee 12" apes and the fork gaiters, the comfort of the Superglide seat and the utility of having a back rest to strap stuff to.What I don't like is the looks of the back rest in combination with the Superglide seat, and the turn signals hanging off the bars, which are once again making my hands numb.Let me know what you think, the bike in my sig pic is what it looked like when I started.

I feel your pain Ed. I don't look forward to the day I have to put my backrest and big a$$ seat back on but I know the time is near. I've also wrestled with the turn signals. Gone from bars to trees to lower frame. Heck the only place left is on the ground. I really don't think your bike looks bad.
I'd say remove the gators until the trees are powder black, if you do that. Sissy bar you can always try one of them haulenass ones. Actually a big attitude stick may look good and still be functional. Or just get a detachable. Black mirrors and levers too!!
can't really avoid the seat & sissy bar look when goin that route (no big deal)...but I'm thinkin something could be done about the turn signals! Bike's lookin good man!
I think it would look better with a couple minor adjustments. I say roll the apes forward a bit, and get a shorter backrest. The mini rail and pad would look perfect. If you do that, it will make a huge difference.
I was shocked when I saw pictures of your bike. I had to scroll up to your name to make sure it was you that posted it cause it just looked so different. LOL.
