little while ago I was debating a way to move the sigs, thought about moving them to the forwards then rounder sent me a link to where someone did it on their rocker.
Unfortunately, I didn't have the same holes the rocker had on its frame so I knew I was going to have to make some brackets. Grabbed some 1/8th inch steel and started cutting. The bracket in the attached pic was just a mock-up, I made two much cleaner ones and sent them off for powder. Ran the sig wiring from the neck of the frame following the down tube, and bingo.
It seems to work well, I dont think they'll drag because they're not as low as the pipes, but we shall see. Unfortunately, my front end is currently appart so I cant get a pic of the new locations on a full bike, but you get the idea. I'm pretty pumped because it puts the sigs at the same level as my rear sigs which are mounted to my swing arm.
The flash makes the sigs really stand out, however in natural light it looks like they're part of the forwards, nice and clean.
Looks great, man. I've been thinking about adding some of the small Kuryakyn running lights down low, wondering if I could get them on my forwards. Let us know when your brackets go into production and how much you're gettin for them!
In terms of producing these things thats pretty unlikely, the bracket is easy as hell to make, just make a mock-up and dont be afraid to re-do to make a clean one for your final install.
Joe the sigs are just mounted through the hole in the bracket using a bolt, dont recall what size because I just brought the stock swivel tip ones into a bolt shop to be matched, just make sure you dont go too long or the sig assembly wont fit back into the bulb housing. Also make sure to use some form of a lock washer to prevent movement.
whoops, just realized you asked about the rears. I actually just mounted those to an axle cover, then had both powdered. However, I bought a set of front sigs because they are smooth and dont have the indent for the turn stock like the rear ones do. Ran the wires along the bottom of the swing-arm and up the frame.
