I want to change the shocks setting and not sure there both in the same position right now. Standing rear facing the rear fender do I CW the left and CCW right all the way and where is the firm setting, all the way CW (right) or opposite? I don't know if there any difference between the R & L shock or are they the same? TIA

When you turn, and the spring compresses, that is the more firm setting.
You can do what I did. Get a mirror and flashlight and look under the skirt of the shock and check the position. More compression is a firmer recoil setting. I think you turn both the same direction. Just turn them equally. That's where the mirror comes in handy.
Just bottom them out then go from there. If you don't have the adjustment tool, I would highly recomend it. It's about $12.00, but will save your knuckles.
I know on my wide glide there is six settings ( five clicks) on the rear shocks , clockwise makes the shocks firmer , counterclockwise softer , adjust both shocks at the same time , do one or two clicks at a time on each shock to keep track of your adjustment , I weight 280# so I have the shocks at max firmness

Both shocks are the same. L and R are interchangable. Turn them both the same direction.
just look under the skirt on the shocks.look at the lower skirt, threw the holes and thier are numbers on them.check if both match and raise the number or lower.for your riding comfort.make sure they are both the same.if you dont have them the same number ,you will get a wobble in the **** end.very easy to check.
