Absolutely untrue. If the attorneys at Disney were concerned about this kind of use, they would try to make a case that this use of the work violates Fair Use doctrine. The burden of proof is on the Disney in this situation because it is a non-commercial use (until you go to sell the bike), but your bank account will be up against Disney's bank account. I think Disney could easily show that the widespread use of this work (especially in this fashion) would hurt the potential market of the original, therefore violating fair use.
Trademark law has nothing to do with it; this is not Disney's trademark. In the case of coca-cola, there is absolutely trademark infringement there; but having coca-cola's trademark appear on someone's bike is not a problem for them.
In any event, I wouldn't lose sleep over it; I just thought it was ironic.
Sadly, Ridley appears to be finished for once and all. They filed for bankruptcy protection and their primary lender filed to seize all collateral to satisfy a portion of the debt.
In the current economic climate and bike market I don't think it's likely they'll return.
