i just installed a quick disconnect sissy bar on my 2010 wide glide and it makes the worst vibrating noises ive ever heard. it is damn annoying anyone else have any problem with these hd pos? it seems harley would do r&d on their parts. i asked the dealer they say they never heard of any problems with this.
mine had a rattle to it at one point but after drilling holes into it to attach my bags the weight keeps it from rattling and its solid cause if it wasnt I wouldn't put my wife on it...(or would I)
I've had a quick disconnect sissy bar on my 08 Lowrider for a year now and never had any vibration/noise problems. Does it happen only when you're riding (going over bumpy roads etc) or does it happen when the bike is idling too? Start up and listen where the noise is coming from. If that doesn't work, take a rubber mallet and lightly tap the sissy bar in different areas. If something is loose you may be able to hear where the noise is coming from.
Take a look at the bolts holding the pad onto the frame of the sissy bar. I had one several years back where one bolt didn't quite want to snug up and it lead to rattling. Didn't have a tap set at the time so I just stuck a washer under the bolt and problem solved.

+1 I had the four bolts that hold the uprights to the sissy bar come loose and rattle big time - a little locktite and wrenched them tight problem solved
My 06 rattles some too. Really only notice it when at a stop, or idling through town. Not there when the better half is on back. Easy fix...don't stop or slowdown.
