Default Headlight connector

Checked the svc manual and searched a bunch of threads on swapping on the 7" but didn't see anything on this. Seems most folks either cut the wires and soldered them back or pulled the connector from the frame side and slipped the wires out.

Is there a way to remove the connectors from within the plug that goes into the bulb? Seems that would be the easy way to do this swap since you only have to mess with the wires inside the bucket you're pulling anyway. Just not sure how to get the connectors out of the plug.

I don't think so...anyway, now that I know how to do it, I probably could do the swap in 15 minutes

you should be able to take a pick or maybe a paper clip or some sort of wire and depress the pin locking tabs down and get the pins out no problem. I cut and spliced mine with butt connectors.

You can easily remove the pins from that connector. Like stated above use a paperclip sharped to an angle. Then slide it into the front end and push up on the locking tab, pull wire out. You can buy the parts ,pins and connector, at the dealer to make your own extensions. If you but them first you will see how they come apart.

This thread helped me a lot last night. I was struggling with mine with a chrome one and joined this forum specifically to find out how to get the connector apart. I was changing the headlight visor out on my Low Rider and the slot for the annunciator is too small for the annunciator to come out and the connector is too large to fit through the slot. The mechanical engineer that picked out the connector should be ashamed. Oh well, with your help, it is back together
