Tax check=Mods
Allright I got my tax check. It's not a whole lot but it'll get me some things that I've been wanting. I'm getting some Kodlin bonanza bars, a bullet style headlight (all in black) and while I'm at it I'll relocate the front turn signals .
The headlight is easy. I think that I'm going to make a bracket for the turn signals. The bars are the only thing I'm not sure about. I could use some good information. I want to do it right and disassemble the plug (I don't want to cut any wires).
I know how to take the plug apart but I need to know where it is and how to get to it.I couldn't find the info when I used the search and I asked some friends and I got differant answers from each of them.
If you have a street bob and have changed your bars I would really appreciate the help. Thanks.

Heres your answer... Mine is an 08 street bob so i dont know if this is the same for yours, but i would think it would be.
The plug is directly over your front rocker box. There is a plastic cover that needs removed (under side of frame). On each side of the frame in that area you will find a hole with a plastic clip thing that holds the cover in place (with a tank raise it may be easier to locate). Shut push those clips in on each side. Just under the neck of the frame the cover sits in a slot, pop it out and slide it down. It may take a little prying, its plastic and will stand up to some abuse.
Then all you do is pull out the mess of wires in there out and down, and find the correct connectors, one has 6 wires(right), the other has 8(left), your turn signal wire connectors are there also, taped into the bundle of wires (3 wires per signal).
Since you know how do disassmble the connector i wont get into this, thats actually the hard part. It takes time to get it correct so the wires pop out the back of the connector.
Pm me if you need any more help. I still got mine disconnected and waiting on +6 cables and brake lines...
YOUR GOING TO HAVE TO CUT WIRES, UNLESS YOU GO WITH A NOVELLO WIRE EXTENSION KIT (OR SIMILAR PRODUCTS). THEY WILL NEED TO BE LONGER. DONT INSTALL KIT UNTILL YOU GOT YOUR BAR INTERNALLY WIRED, SO YOU WONT HAVE A BUNCH OF SPLICED PLACES TRYING TO MAKE TURN IN THE BARS... IF YOU DO THE NOVELLO KIT, I'D STILL RECOMMED YOU SOLDER THE CONNECTIONS TOGETHER AFTER THE BARS ARE ON AND INTERNALLY WIRED (I DID IT THE OTHER WAY AND IT WAS A PAIN IN THE ****!) ME AND A BUDDY ALSO INSTALLED SOME T BARS ON HIS FXDC, IT WAS MUCH EASIER SINCE WE KNEW WHAT WE WERE DOING THE SECOND TIME...
ALSO CHECK OUT THE TURN SIGNAL RELOCATE IN THE UNDER 50 BUX THREAD STICKIED AT THE TOP OF THE DYNA SECTION.

Thanks for the info Shimmon. I've seen the plastic cover but I didn't know what it was for. As far as the wire length goes I allready have some riser extensions that raised the stock bars up to the same hight that the new bars are going to be so no problem there. I"ve heard that they made the wires longer for the '09 model.
I just ordered the bars and found out that they redesigned them. They aren't welded at the bottom any more. They are bent, because that corner was a stress point but they are still welded at the top. With the gussets welded on that corner was never an issue. I have heard of people having bars like them crack and break so better safe than sorry.

Right on... Sounds like you got it handled... And if the wires to prove short, lets hope not though, you can always cut, splice, and solder a short section of wire in. Will only take an hour or less to do this. Like i said, let me know if you run into any snags. I did when i was doing mine and joe(jrk) and brian(hogrida) helped me out, so i'd like to pay it forward if you need it.
ALSO... WHAT IS THAT BAG YOU HAVE ON YOUR REAR STRUT? I LIKE!

That's just a tool bag. There's one on the other side too. I rigged it so the straps would wrap around the struts. They're kind of small though I was thinking of getting some sissy bar bags to replace them.

I was thinking of something like that myself. Sometimes smaller is better.
