Default Help with Turn Signal Relo

I installed passing lamps with turn signals today. Now I need to remove the old signals from the handlebars. I wanted to try to keep them intact with the wiring and pull the wires through the bars. I opened the switch housing but I can't seem to get the wires free. The T/S wires are inside a smaller harness/cover that runs inside the switch wiring harness/cover. Is it even possible to pull these wires through?

I have the manual for my bike but it doesn't seem to cover removing the signals. The signal relo kit instructions just say to cut the wires. They don't say whether to remove them or just leave them.

Maybe 11:30 Saturday night wasn't the best time to ask this question. Anyone?

I've searched but no one talks specifically about removing the stock wires from inside the bars. The connector is off so theoretically I should be able to pull them. I just dont want to screw up any of the other wiring they are routed with.

I would just cut them and forget about it maybe if i could tape them off

The wires at then end of the signal are soldered in. The other end is under the tank at each side of the frame. You could probably disassemble the connector and pull the wires through the bars.

I've already separated the wires from the connector and I thought I could just pull them out from the signal end. Unfortunately, they are pretty tightly packed in the switch housing with the other wires and don't seem to want to budge.

I think I might do as Bobberevo88 suggested and just cut them. I have this wierd compulsion to be able to return the bike to stock someday. Maybe if I cut them at the solder joint I can tuck the excess in the switch housing. Leaving the disconnected wire in place seems the easiest solution.

Mine were tight as well when I relocated mine I pulled them through like you are trying to do. If I remember I grabbed onto the wires with a heavy pair of pliers and just pulled real hard. The problem was the tubing they are in is vinyl and it sticks to the vinyl tubing the rest of the wires running through the bars is in.

Thanks. It doesn't help that they put a zip tie inside the switch housing. And I'm not looking forward to opening the switch housing on the throttle side.

There is nothing to be afraid of here. The cables are locked into the throttle tube. It will open just like the one on the other side.

OK, thanks. I thought I read somewhere about some little piece associated with the front brake light switch has a habit of falling out. Although, now that I think about, I changed my grips a couple months ago and must have opened the housing for the throttle tube to go in.
