Default Wide Glide function?

Does the wide front end on a Wide Glide have a function or is it more for looks?

Looks. Even at that, the difference is pretty minor compared to to the "mid glide" trees on the Street Bob and Superglide. The fork tubes are the same diameter (49mm) on all 06-up Dynas, and that is a difference you may actually feel compared to the other bikes.

For the 2003 models the FXDL and WG frame has a 32 degree rake; other models (FXD, FXDX and FXDXT) have a 28 degree rake frame.

Inner fork tubes for the 2003 FXDWG are longer as on other models.
