Default Leaving ignition switch on

I have a habit of leaving the key switch on my Bob in the ignition on position. Today was a record of about an hour left like that. Of course my lights are on, but is there any danger to the bike as a result of my negligence?

i have heard that it can damage the ignition coil. if you leave the ignition on, on a car, the coil gets hot. so maybe, not such a good idea[&:]

why dont you buy one of those cool skull keys with a belt attachement so you can
"be the man off the bike " or maybe tie a string on your thumb or put a sticker on your helmet
"remove key" or "turn bike off "

I would think the thought of someone else riding off on that blue bob would be enough to inspire you to take the key with you.

Phreak - GOOD POINT! Where I forget it though is in a friend's backyard or while I'm standing beside it talking to someone. I'll just hit the off switch and walk off like a dolt.

Should not be any lingering electrical problems other than draining the battery. First couple times I forgot to fork lock it, but that was as close as I got.

Get in the habit of locking your ignition every time you get off your bike....won't have that problem ....Sure would be a bitch to see someone see your bike with the lights on and run over and hop on it and away they go.

I still haven't gotten my fork lock fixed. Of course I took it to my dealer twice for them to do it but they figured they would ignore it, I just haven't had the time lately with work to find a new dealer and take it there.

RAP87, whatever happened with your last problem at RMHD? Wasn't it your engine or trans?
