[8D] I'm looking into getting a seat with a riders backrest, for my '02 Dyna wide glide. Anyone got opinions of what is the most comfortable, and gives good back support? I'm getting older and need the additional support!
I like the looks of the Mustang. Has anyone tried the HD seat (#53042-01A) that has the backrest? If it is anything like the seats that come on the bike I don't want to get it! I want some comfort.
I have a mustang studded wide solo with backrest and the wide passanger seat and backrest.. I love it. Very good (for me and old lady) for long rides the price was a bit high but you can get it a few hundread off list at www.discountcycleparts.com
btw this is on a 04 wideglide
I have a Mustang Wide Vintage on my LowRider with a wide pad for the Mrs. Bought it at Sturgis '03 from the Mustang vendor and it was worth every penny. The wife and I have taken several 200+ mile morning rides. I remove the rider backrest with her on it. If she's not with me I take the pad and sissybar off and put the backrest on. Very comfortable in that configuration for me. Going to put it to the ultimate test starting the end of next week. 5k+ miles in less than 3 weeks.
Bill, Have heard that the Corbin may be a little too firm, do you find that true? Then another friend of mine bought a Mustang but after a year he said it wasn't like it was when he bought it.
I also am seeking a solo sit with back rest as my old buddy need some support on those longer rides. 04 Low Rider

Yes, like that. The screw right behind the seat, I took my old seat off last night and saw that screw, what does the connect too?
How do you like the seat???
There are two screws in the rear fender on my bike. One holds the solo seat on the other holds the pillion. If I remember correctly, the factory seat is screwed into the pillion screw hole and there is a plug where the solo seat attaches. It's been awhile since I had the seat installed. The original seat is in a shipping box from where Mustang shipped it t omy house from Sturgis where I bought the seat for the return ride. So far I love the seat. I'll be able to really give a more informed opinion of the long haul comfort of the seat at the end of the month. Putting over 5k miles on her this month. Leave tomorrow.
