Ok.. I thought the newer Dynas had a rev limiter on the motors.. ? My XL1200R from 2004 had it.. and if you gassed the throttle you'd feel when it kicked in.(yea I know the XL1200R had a rev counter). So if the Dyna has a rev limiter then makes this toy a bit redundant does'nt it ? May be ok for drag strip use and bigger cubed tuned engines without a limiter but on a standard motor ? and if your an experianced rider you can feel when it's time to cog up or down a gear without one of these..or a rev counter for that matter...but hey,it's your choice and your cash.. and if you really think you need it.........
Very nice man! seems like a great solution to the lack of a tach without changing the dash Why was it a bitch to install? did you have to tap in to some wires?

The rev limiter can be deactivated, at least I could using the PCIII.

Just ordered one for my SE 120R X-Bones and I am expecting delivery in about 10 days.
I found out the 120R Monster Motor is really hard, close to impossible, to ride without a shift light. Although I'm quite an experienced rider it just revs and pulls so freaking hard and fast.. I've got no clue on when to shift gears.
"...impossible to ride without a shift light"??? Nah, I wouldn't think so.
BTW, good looking bike!

Close to... I find it hard to shift at the absolute peak, I tend to over rev the sucker and loose momentum way to often. Some important tenths of a second are missed at some shiftings. Almost lost a street race against a 113" Ultima the other day.. don't like that at all...
these things must not have lasted long because there is no trace of them now. I had a shift gauge on my 2006 Sportster that was pretty cool, like this one,,
these thing are everywhere for cheap, the hard part is finding the housing & mounting plate you need, someone could make the plate and might even make their own housing. Paint it all black and it would work.. Hook up is an easy 3 wires just like a tach. would probably even work on a 2015 bike.
