Default Lower my '06 Wide Glide?

Hey, this is going to sound stupid...but I want to lower my 2006 Wide Glide with some of the low-profile shocks(the solid-chrome shocks...not sure of the exact name). What brand/kind should I purchase? How low should I take it? and where can I get the best price on some? Thanks in advance.

I lowered my 2007 Low Rider with 11" Progressive 430's tool less adjustable chrome shocks. Not solid though...you can see the springs. You have to decide on the shock you want, then see what size/length is available for your bike. Lots of manufacturers out there. Try JPCYCLE.COM online catalog for variety, style, fitment.

I measured my stock shocks....center eye hole to center eye hole and they measured 12.5" so in essence, I dropped my L.R. by 1.5". I also added a Progressive Front Fork Lowering Kit which dropped it by 1 1/4". Remember, if you drop the back, your front end will sit higher, your reach to the handlebars and how you sit in your seat will also be affected.
My center of gravity was much improved with these mods and I feel like I'm sitting IN my bike not ON it. Handling was improved and doesn't feel as top heavy as it did.

Now I'm a hefty gal..... and I haven't bottom out yet. Have not had luggage strapped on, but if I do, I can just dial the shocks up a notch or two with my hands.
I've only scraped my pegs twice by accident.....as I'm not an aggressive rider. If you do lower the bike...... be aware that it will affect the lean of the bike on it's jiffy stand. Mine sat almost upright on the jiffy stand. ( see my signature photo below) ...with a slight tilt to the left. Over this past winter, I went and bought a 1" lower jiffy stand ONLINE through Debrix.com to completely solve that problem. Have not taken any new photos , but the lean angle is VASTLY improved, No more worries about finding a level spot to park it on, or having to lean way over to the right to get the stock jiffy stand to come down....... or of the bike would tip over because it stood so upright.

I had my dealer purchase and install the Progressive Shocks and Front Fork lowering kit.
I bought the lowered jiffy stand and had the dealer install it. I dont do any wrenching.
