I found there to be plenty of room Nightster. As you see by the pics, I mounted mine(using velcro), to the bottom side of speedo head....lots of clearance....as well as in front, under the dash...my circuit board is about half the size of a business card....now that i heard about it, shrink wrapping the board, woulda been a plus....might go back and do that!
Thanks for everyones comments...ride-on!
Dont forget your gonna have to change the battery sometime... Dont know if shrink wrapping the entire circuit board would be the best option. Might cut something you didnt want to when removing the shrink wrap from the board. Maybe a zip lock bag or saran wrap...
But i realy like this idea! How much was the odo button? This is very trick and would allow me to not have the opener in my pocket. I have one that is a keychain mount and i try to put it buttons out so i can hit the button while cruising the driveway. But this would be muuuuuch better!

now that you mention it shimmon, I tend to agree about enclosing....but some sort of protection is good idea....the odo button from stealer was a mere $25 CDN....

and dreamer65...I did buy an extra door remote...that was pricey..$45CDN....but HomeDepot/Lowes, may sell universal, for less $$ if you want to try that route

I forgot to mention, I wired the opener into the bike's electrical system. Won't need to cut the shrinkwrap.

It's a two-part ordeal: rubber screw-on cap and switch with wires. Both were less than $20. HD# 67880-94 is the rubber boot, HD# 67854-98 is the Speedometer Reset switch
