Door Opener
I know this subject has been tackled in the past, but I took a different approach, and although it is a tad over fifty skins, since I did all the work myself, it's still a fairly inexpensive, yet effective mod...I wanted a Garage door opener(tired of fumbling for it), mounted on the Dyna...picked up an ODO button from the stealer, and using circuit board from garage door opener, I wired the button switch to the board, and mounted the button to the dash, opposite ODO reset...looks clean, and unobtrusive, and works like a charm!
Included is a pic of where I mounted the circuit board, and the finished product button mount.

I measured carefully, after completely removing dash, as well as idiot light module to allow clearance for drilling....not sure what else you wanna know, but I will say this...take your time....this isnt something you want to rush through...also, I drilled pilot hole for the remote button, from the inside, then the remaining drilling, I did from the outside. It's a good idea, to drop a stick of masking tape on either side of the metal to reduce burring/chipping. Definitely don't wanna use any abrasive to remove burrs on the finished chrome...GL nightster if you try it, and dont hesitate to ask if you have anymmore q's if I didnt cover something....I found this pretty straightforward mod....

Thanks so much. I drill holes in steel for a living, seems like anyhow, but never chrome, I appreciate the tips. I'm more curious about the space available inside, what dimension of the circuit board, hoping to butcher my fob to fit(bout the same as any car alarm fob). Again, love the mod, and appreciated the help!
I did the same thing on my wife's Sportster. Well, almost. I put the odo reset switch on the back of the speedo, 180° from the original odo reset switch. Then, I ran wires under the tank and mounted the circuit board (shrink-wrapped) under the seat.
Interesting note, for Sportster Low and FXD owners considering this: there is a mounting "pocket" in the back of the speedo guts for another switch, opposite the original reset switch.
