Oh yes the upgrades! Harley's way of making rich people poor!!!!
I need to get the pipes before I can decide which air cleaner to get and how to set up the power commander. That's the easy part!
I'm thinking only some people have problems with samson, I really like their pipes, they are loud and have a really good sound...thanks for your input!
try harley's way of keeping poor people poor.
i wasn't bringing up the other stage 1 components to overwhelm you, simply to point out that the "sound" everyone chases when getting pipes is actually achieved by opening up the motor on both ends (intake/exhaust) and tuning it properly.
We did all this crap to my sportster...pipes, pc, cleaner...what a mess! I just want to get it right this time! Pipes first...biggest worry, the rest will come after so much easier!!!!
Samson is really a-ok huh?! Cause I'm really liking the hellraisers....

i have almost 2000 miles on my pipes and the only issue i've had is a broken heat shield clamp due to me not tightening it enough.
now i check all bolts associated with my pipes on a weekly basis.
and a little TLC with mother's polish and an old t-shirt keeps them lookin like new.
a/c= air cleaner . I know 2 people who are running Samson pipes , and they are have no problems .
I'm running Samson Legends and love them. Flat black, loud when I open the throttle. No problems and quality is good. You can get shorter pipes as well.
See, you could get the pipes right the first time....get a thunderheader ! buying any 2-2 pipe makes you just like almost everyone else... IMHO those sidecutters are fugly.
Frankie Serrano Designs makes some great pipes! Short, loud and sound awesome. They come in a satin black ceramic finish... My buddy just put a set of the Nasty's on his Dyna and as soon as I can afford it, I am switching out my V&H Big Radius 2-2 Chromes for the Satin Black Ceramic 2Nasty.
If you really want some pipes everyone else doesn't have, you could have a metal fabrication shop make you some custom pipes. Just a thought, lots of people have done it.
It's not that I have a problem having the same pipes as other people, I know it's going to happen, but when the people I ride with all have vance and hines, I'd rather not be in that clique! I don't like the sound of the vance and hines all that much anyway. I like the rumble and growl better....
I'm looking into samson...I think the hellraisers are my fav.
BUB AND REINHART ARE ONE IN THE SAME you can't go wrong with the sound from those guys,it's just a matter of picking out your fav model, you won't be disappointed!
Sorry for the caps lock.... o ya and if you don't want to burn your leg, wear long pants when you ride.
