Default SE Compensator

I ride a 2008 FXD and think I have compensator problems. Does anyone know if the inner primary has to be pulled to change the compensator. I looked in the service manual it only mentions the outer primary cover. I've heard it both ways on this forum.

Absolutly no need to take the inner off.
Outer only.
Unless you are putting the SE Comp on.
Then 2 choices.
Grind edge off inner or remove inner .
