The spring pack and cam are an intrinsic part of the compensator and are "in the box" Mr. Brown will deliver.

...and what you describe may very well be a loose comp sprocket and just needs to be tightened up.

Thanks Sniper77. I will check that first, but I have already ordered the new compensator. If I have to go in there, I might as well make the upgrade while I'm there. I just hope that takes care of the problem. I went for a short ride yesterday and it seems like it's getting worse. My next issue is the whining tranny. It's so bad it's getting embarassing to ride through a quiet camp ground or neighborhood.

1/4" flat bar....1' wide and 7" long

Most use 1/4 steel flatbar I used a pc of aluminum. I didnt want the extra weight in my toolbox and it doesnt need to be that strong.

Nice write up.

I did the SE Comp in my B motor last year and it was indeed one of the better moves I've done. I won't have another bike without doing this mod.
It's a "must have", symptoms or not.

I've got my SE comp coming... I cringe every time I fire my ride up.. it jumps to life so hard and it sounds like someone give the engine a rap with a small ball peen hammer, when it takes that weak stock compensator to the end of it's travel... it's also gotten a lot noisier lately... I'm sure the stock comp is pretty much toast. Doing the chrome inner primary... and the SE comp at the same time.
