Very sad.
I wish there was some magical way to get bikes and cars to share the road without any fatalities at all. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Unless you ride, you're not going to really be paying attention for bikes.

The alcohol and riding just don't mix. The local HOG chapter's are the worst. Getting new riders out to the nearest watering hole, dressed up like pirates and drinking like them.

Regardless, if you go on a run and the participating stops are indeed bars they don't force alcohol down your throat at gunpoint. It's YOUR choice to have a drink or not. I do seem to remember that bars also sell soda, coffee, and hell even water is available.
I'm not condoning drinking and driving at all. The article just sounded poorly written on the author's part. Like they were assuming the m/c riders had been drinking.
