Default 2007 LR Drip From Shifter Peg

I notices a few spots of oil on the groundunder the shifter peg on my 2007 Low Rider. The bushing on the peg is slightly wet. Took off the derby cover and put in a few ounces to top off. Using Mobil 1 20w50 in there.

Is there a seal that is easily replaced if I took off the chaincase cover?

theres a little round gasket between the outer cover and inner primary cover where the shifter shaft runs thru called a tower gasket.. common problem but an easy fix.. just have to pull the outer cover and replace the gasket..

Thanks, looking at the service manual on p6-2 it says I need to loosen the rear axle nut before removing the chaincase cover. I don't understand why that is necessary if I am going to replace that tower gasket. Besides the cover gasket which I assume I'd replace on this job, anything else that will come off?
