Default 07 Exhaust

I know I have read it here about the 06, but I can't find it. Here's my question. Can I install slip-on exhaust, without doing anything else, and it run fine? I won't be doing the air cleaner right now, but even though the stock exhaust sounds ok, it's still now loud enough for me. I will be doing the air cleaner, and going with the P/C III, but that's down the road. I think I read here that it's been done and run fine, but my stealer is telling me I will need the stage 1 download, which I have read here is a waste of money.

Thanks

I know some people have gotten away with it on the 06's. The funny thing is I was just in the dealer the other day and they an they have nothing for the 07's yet no downloads no DFO's or anthing.

That's another reason why I am waiting. I know I will need to give H/D, and the aftermarket time to catch up. I'll just have to wait just like all you guys had to with the 06's.

I think your going to see a 50/50 split on
that question.
I added the slip on only and it's fine. I'm
planning on the A/C and PCIII install as
soon as it's delivered.

I'm one of the half that says you can do just slipons and be OK.

What makes you think you need to wait phor 07 exhaust??

They major changes to the Dyna exhaust, adding the o2 sensors, happened in 06. Any of the pipes designed phor 06 Dynas should also work on 07s.

I agree with what you are saying Phreak. The major changes did come in 06. All the pipes for the 06 models should fit the 07's If they did not change the diameter of the exhaust ports. The Dealer was the one that told me they had no downloads yet.

I personally am upset that they made even more changes to the 07's and there are parts available for it that will not fit the 06 models. It seems to me they knew they were making a major change and used us 06 owners as a test run. I think that is fine but we should be offered some of the same goodies as well.
Specifically speaking of Custom sprockets the 07 models have some the 06 have none.[:@]

I agree, I would not get a download at all. Now I have to save up enough to get the PC III, pipes, and ac. Not cheap even aftermarket.

You got to pay to play

I wasn't thinking about the exhaust being different, my concern was the P/C III. But now that I think about it, it would be just a different map. That makes me think about another question, if the o2 sensors are mainly a epa thing, why could a person not use an earlier exhaust system without the bung holes. From what I understand the P/C III does not use them, so a person could just zip tie them out of the way, right. Or am I way off base.
