I put twin slash vance and hines slip ons, on my 2010 street bob today....did not not tightin the clamp connecting the slip ons to the header pipe enough.....went riding down the road and both pipes fell off and skidding down the road. heat shields have scratches and the support bar that connects both of them is scratched up.. 280 dollar lesson....I cant afford to buy all new pipes, maybe i can get the heat shields by them selves cheaper, bike still sounds good, but i hear i sort of hissing sound sometimes. Also this screamin eagle stage 1 filter i bought, it says I need to have the ECM recalibrated and set the rev to go up to 6000rpm, does the fuelpak i have cover that or do i need to take it to the dealer? what do you think?
I dont think the fuel pak adjust anything but fuel, but I could be wrong. I went with a power commander so im not 100%. If it dosent get it recalibrated or you will probably run a little lean and hot too. I can say I feel your pain on the shields, I change my clutch cable while installing apes today.I had to remove the exhaust to gain access, and realized the plastic I put the shields on didnt do what I intended and scratched the sh^t out of the shields, and then after driving home I noticed a nasty exhaust leak and found out I didn't tighten the bolts. So unfortunately we all learn the hard way when we get in a hurry. Call the cost a learning experience and move on. Sorry man, that sux.

Sucks about the slip ons...I can't see any reason to have the redline bumped to 6K on a stock motor...tq and hp drop off way before that.
By the thread title I thought you had met my ex wife somewhere.
Man I would have been pissed off deluxe if I had done that with the pipes. Good to know someone else has just as bad of luck as I do. Sorry about that but hey at least you didn't meet my ex wife...
fuel pac should cover it, but there is not a lot of different settings for the fuel pac, so you might not get the best performance/tune. that does sux about the pipes. i hate when **** goes wrong.
when doing my pipes I had a 1400 dollar oops involving the tranny case but havent done anything about it except made a custom bracket ($300) to hold the exhaust on... as far as the sheilds go have joe powder coat them may make the mistake less costly...
