Good deal...I'll be there in 5 more years. Curious though doesn't the Air Force have some sort of transition class? I know the navy makes us go at least 1 year out & we can ask to go a few times. Helps big with the job hunting process.

Congrats & thanks for your service. I'm on the same flight path. I'm retiring from the Air Force effective 1 August. The whole thing sort scares me because I've been in uniform since I was 17 years old. I'm 45 now, 28 years... geeez

I retired from the USMC 11 years ago...There is life out here.. Not the same comaraderie, or people having your back but you'll adjust good luck

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. AFONE, going for the long haul huh? I would have liked to go longer, but I can't take being here any longer. My effective date is 1 August also, but I've got this much terminal leave saved up.

Congratulations, I retired 3 1/2 years ago from the Army. I went back to college, to be a social studies teacher.
