Why does everyone cover the numbers on their license plates in pictures? Not just this sight, but the news, T.V., advertisments etc. Seems weird considering I can look out my window and see millions of them in plain sight.
I know this is a stupid question, I just can't see the harm! School me!!!
Because if they show the license number some smuck can find his address by the license number go to his house and either steal that chopper, or smack them for what they said, or rape that good looking wife, or shoot their dog.....
You get the point. And don't say it can't happen. Why do you think they are masking the numbers?
I didn't doctor the photos, I actually blurred the tag so the po-po's can't catch up with me for punching belligerent cagers in the face. [sm=chairshot.gif]
I often wondered the same thing. I know you cant be too trusting but bluring the tag numbers is silly. If someone wants to steal my bike...Great. I'll pay my deductible collect the insurance money and head on down to the dealership for a new one. Anybody out there wanna steal a bike...lol
For the same reason you see no Harley Davidson decals on any of my cars or trucks..somebody sees something on your bike that they like and follow you home, take the bike and get their part or the whole bike..I also don't have a sticker on my window that says never mind the dog, worry about the 357, its like telling a thief, hey, he has guns..What ever I can do to protect what I have worked so hard for i will do to keep it. maybe some of you are so well off that you don't care, but this hard working, retired x-welder for a utility co. just can't afford that, so I work at keeping what is mine[sm=biker.gif]

My reason is because with an image that I post on the Internet I am not sure who will copy it and what it will be used for.
For example lets say someone copies a pic of my bike and then uses it for a scam or an add that is illegal. Or even on EBAY
for the purpose of scamming someone. I do not what it traced back to me by my license plate # which would make me an accessory to the crime. Granted I probably would not be charged with the crime but I do not need the hassel and expense of proving it was not me or that I was not involved
Being able to track me to my home and steal my ride is not an issue with me.
