Default Hard Starting

I have a 2010 Wide Glide with a Stage 1 done to it. On the first start up it will turn over for a couple seconds before it fires. After it's been run it starts fine. I have to leave it sit a couple hours before it will do it again. I have a battery tender plugged into it all the time. Any thoughts?

new plugs and check the gap, also make sure your plugs are tight and your wires are on tight as well,,,, then check to make sure your battery terminals are tight... i would not sugest a tender on it all the time man, there is really no reason

I think I've heard some say to just turn the key and hit the start button without waiting for the fuel pump light to go out.

Default Mine, too

Hubby's 2010 wg and my 2010 bob both have stage 1 from fuelmoto and - we love the power - ours both start hard, too. Same problem exactly. Never heard about the NOT waiting for fuelpump. Can anyone say why that would work? I was told to always wait for it and don't want to do something that will mess stuff up without a good reason.

I NEVER wait. I flip the run switch and hit the start button and my bike starts RIGHT UP EVERY TIME. So my point is I don't think it makes any difference, although I do think mine starts easier with out waiting.

I don't know about starting it up like that. It just seems so wrong to me. Is there an actual mechanical reason that it is ok to do it?
