I'm changing all my screws on my 05 wide glide to stainless and I can see that I will need to unscrew the cable fitting from the cover in order to get to the screw behind the fitting.
What will happen if I just unscrew it?
Will fluid fall out?
Is the end hooked onto something in the cover that I might disconnect and then have the problem of putting it back together?
Yes if the bike is level it will spill, if it is on the jiffy it may lean enough not to spill, if you unscrew you should have a bit of residual but I don't forsee any major spillage. If you can change the stainless screw out from there that would best, if not the clutch cover can be removed and the cable ball end removed without disassembly of the rotating ball lever held together by internal snap ring. Be sure to place a new clutch cover gasket on.

I believe you will have to remove the cover to unscrew the cable. I removed all of my screws with the cable still attached when I switched to a chrome cover. Be careful because there is a o-ring on the fitting.
