Check all fuses back in place and properly seated.
Check all wires properly connected.

Charge the battery to full (if you tried to push a map with low voltage, or if you tried to initialize the module with low voltage you may have a "fail").

If you just pushed a map, be sure to
- "Clear learned fuel adjustments".
- "Clear learned IAC adjustments"

Double check the map you pushed is a correct one (read it from the module)

That was my first thought,I know the TTS marries up just like a copy of windows vista or above marries up to a specific motherboard.

Check all fuses back in place and properly seated - check SAT

Charge the battery to full - check SAT

Note: no "fail" message received on completion of WRITE function--either time I tried writing the base map, even though the battery might have been a little low after my first try ....

If you just pushed a map, be sure to:
"Clear learned fuel adjustments" - did not try that; but, my reasoning was that since the map was from the Smart Link IV library, it shouldn't be so far off as to not allow it to start at all ....
"Clear learned IAC adjustments" - ditto last comment ....

Double check the map you pushed is a correct one (read it from the module) - did a READ and the name of the map came up the same ... did not compare parameters to original map, though ... was running out of patience at the time (seems I've got some of my patience back, today )

No change in status since last night ... put the battery on the charger and haven't had a chance to get to it today ....

Sounds like you did everything right. T-Max does not marry to the bike, that's one advantage over TTS.

Not sure I understood all that about the password codes, don't recall having to do anything with that, but not important.

Do recall my first pick map would not start the bike and had to change to a different map to get thumpa-thump.
Question1: How did you select the map?
Question2: Did you try calling Zippers?

If you're adverse to a phone call maybe try to determine what's missing spark or gas. You can pull a plug wire, stick something metal / expose the metal end and hold it close 1/8" to something on the bike, see if you're getting spark. Same with one of the injectors, pull one off the throttle body and see if you're getting fuel.

Can't imagine why anything else might go bad just for installing the T-Max, but if you do reinstall the stock ECM and still won't start, go find Mr. McViegh and kick his ***. At least you'll feel better.

Good luck,
t

Called Zippers and talked to James this afternoon ... said the key fob/codes and all that only applied to OEM ECM unit, not T-Max ... so, seems to eliminate that as a possible cause ....

I am writing the closest map available using the software (updated via the online connection) to my configuration ... file HBRSSESGDE010307.slk set up for a:

Mfr - Harley Davidson
Engine Type - 88ci
Family - TwinCam A&B
Throttle - Stock HD 01-05 (Stock 4.22 Inj)
Exhaust - V&H Pro Pipe
Muffler - Model = Dyna
Air Cleaner - Hi-Flow/2.25" Deep
Cam - Stock
Cylinder Head - Stock
Piston - Stock Flat Top
Modifications - Production Baffle

(per Base Map Definitions screen) ... exhaust, muffler and A/C are closest approximations of mine in the database ....

James asked me to READ the file from the module and e-mail it to him to see if there is a problem with the settings ... going to do that as soon as I finish typing this in and head home ....

Thx for the ideas ... keep 'em coming ... hopefully get this beast back on the road ...!

One thing you might try just for ***** and grins is download the latest firmware and try updating the module firmware.

Actually start with download the latest SmartLink if you don't have or are not sure, think it's 2009.0.5 and then get the latest firmware, load the firmware into your module and then overwrite the map completely with a map from the SmartLink library. I had some weird map issues after upgrading SmartLink and had to redo the map that I have in mine.

Just a thought.

And I have a really warped sense of humor. Couldn't care less who, just figured you'd need someone to take it out on if the original module wouldn't at least get you back on the road.

D@mn it ... I had to take your advice ... I 'uninstalled' the version I had and 'downloaded' the current version from the website ....

I use the term 'downloaded' in the sense that in another hour and a half it will be downloaded ... I've got the slowest network in "CONUS" ... almost as slow as being at sea in a frigate ...!! [That's slower than 'dial-up' ...!]

Oh well ... looks like I had tried using version 2007.0.9 before, so maybe there will be something to updating the software ... how do you update the firmware in the module ...?

THX for 'talking me down' ... I'll try not to take it out on you!

Just saw on page 150 of the manual where there is an option under the "Configure" menu to "Upgrade Module Firmware Now" ... cool ....
