i recently installed the removable side plate docking hardware on my 09 SB. being lazy and going for minimalist looks i just cut the wires to the rear signals and removed them all together.
now to the problem, i noticed last night that only my front right turn signal is working as it should as a running light/turn signal and the left signal is not on as a running light but if i hit the button it functions as a turn signal...
has anyone run just front signals? can it be done or is it screwed up without the backs on there? i assume the front signals have a ground wire, a turn signal power wire, and a running light power wire like the backs, but why is it only affecting the left sig? thanks
This is not going to be very helpful because I dont know the wiring break down, but when I shredded the wiring to my rear turn signals on my 09 Bob, the front turn signals stopped working. So most likely you are going to need some way to complete the circuit, Im guessing, possible adding a resistor or something like that. Someone will be able to help you with this......so BUMP!
before i cut them i swapped in the stock bulb and it solved the problem, it looks like they are dual filament bulbs and the running light filament was bad.
