I have an 09 FXD. I am thinking of lowering my bike with black progressive (412s) shocks. Does any one know haw low my bike will lower with 12" shocks? Im trying to lower it about an 1 1/2".

I think your suspension is already at 12"...so with 12" black progressives, it would lower 0". You'd need to go to approx. 10.5" shocks to drop 1.5". Three words for you. "Ouch, my kidney".

Actually the 09 FXD has 12.5" shocks standard. You can find stock height on Progressive Suspensions web site, just search for your bike and the numbers in bold or red are you stock height.

The shortest shock Progressive makes(for fxdb anyways) is 11". You can find 10 1/2" shocks on ebay for under $200, but I don't know how good they are.

If you are going to ride with the O'Lady, don't do this. It will definitely bottom out and if you put springs strong enough not to bottom out, you'll have a hard tail, but hey, it's your scoot, do what ya want

I put on PS 11" Heavy Duty set on 3 clicks because I ride 80% of the time with the girlfriend..They lower the bike quite a lot and of course are a lot stiffer.. The ouch! is when the lady punches my helmet if I go over a pot hole lmao..By the way..its good to drop the front the same time..I used PS drop in kit and dropped it 1" up front.

Couple of pics for you to see the difference..first is standard..second with the slam..
