Just took delivery of a 2010 FXDC and have noticed when cornering that the front end has a buzzing/vibrating thing going. It can be felt either on or off brakes between 35/40 mph. When the bike is upright all is smooth as you'd expect.
I have been back to the dealer and have had them ride the bike to confirm I am not imagining it, they agree it happens and that its the new tire causing it. They reckon i need to get the tire "worn in" after which the buzz/vibe will go away.
The dealer is going to ask HD about it in any case as its the first time they've seen it. Just wondering if anyone else has had this on a super glide, or any other Dyna?

Mine does the same exact thing. It's the new Michelin Scorcher tire. Not unpleasant. Kinda reminds you you're on the edge.
My 07 SB does the same thing. I checked the bearings and the rest of the front end. Everything seems to be in order. It's not really bothersome like grendel4 said, just noticable. Everytime I feel it, I wonder, but lost interest in getting rid of it.
Mine does what you describe as well, only difference is I have an old Dunlop front with over 15k miles on it. The buzzing has gotten more pronounced as the center wears closer to the wear bar (it's almost there so I'll need a new tire soon) but again, it only does it during turns as you have described. Seems to me it has evolved from come cupping on the sides, something that is probably not the case with your set since they are quite new. Either way, decided not to do battle with the dealer over this and I just assume it'll go away when I pick up a new one.
My '09 FXD does this also. I've gone over the front end completely and have been unable to find the cause.
It's not the tire. I've changed from the stock Dunlop that was on it to a Metzler 880 and it still does this.
It doesn't seem to cause any problems but it is distracting at times.
If anyone finds the cause let us know.
In one way its good to hear that I am not the only one experiencing this and that nothing (touch wood) bad has come of it. To me its the kind of vibration that causes threads to work loose, so I'll be scrutinizing the front end at least once a month just to satisfy my paranoia...
It is damn annoying - maybe I just have to get used to it, but it strikes me as something that HD should have had sorted out in the design of the bike or at least formally assessed as to wether or not its a risk to the rider rather than leaving it to the riders to work out for themselves. I think the lack of QA on HD's part annoys me more than anything else...
I dont mind mind going head to head with HD over it on warranty, my dealer is quite cool and agrees that it shouldn't be happening so I have them in my corner for now at least.
Will let you know what comes of it.

Dude, go look at your tires. See those little Bar-and-Shield shaped patterns on the edges?
That's what you're hearing. Michelin did it for a reason.
