Seriously..

Just kidding above.

Get what you want - I use a detachable myself. It has nothing to do with manning up, it has to do with your preference for your ride.

to the originator of this thread...I too just started riding a HD Low Rider, I use to have dirt bikes, mopeds as a youth but nothing like the current bike. The first time I got on the highway I thought I was gonna rip off my handle bars, but after taking a good look around me, deep breath and let out a manly, animalistic scream of joy for about 10 seconds I twsited the throttled and its been history since then.

Mind you I was wearing ff helmet, padded textile jacket, gloves the whole 9 yards...same trip 1 month later its, 3/4 helmet my shades and a long sleeve shirt. I just got my fox creek leather jacket and cant wait to try some riding in the cooler days ahead, thats my REAL test.

But as everyone says their comments you got to do what makes you comfortable & safe, and let out a scream every so often ( no one can hear you over the exhaust noise anyway!!)

Will a SKIRT change this? YES, PINK IS FASTEST.

Thanks for any help, Paul

Yeah, what your friends said...p*ssy. Just messing with ya.

You will get used to the wind. I had the same experience the first time I went 60.

My T-Bag on the front also takes a lot of wind off my chest which helps a lot, but I have been thinking about a back rest.

It does not really matter how much of a bad *** you are, after an extended period of riding it becomes fatiguing, getting used to it is more likely getting stronger from holding on all the time. A deep cut seat that keeps you from sliding back or a backrest really do work and you can relax your grip considerably.

Shout out to the OP, what did you end up doing?

I predict after a while you will relish that feeling. That's what being "in the wind" is all about.

Default 'Shield

Popped on a QD HD shield on my 07 Dyna. The biggest one. Just to see if I liked it. Haven't popped it off yet.
43 years of riding, it's my first windshield equipped bike. Unless you count that silly flyscreen on my old BMW K100RS.
